About me

My name is Nadine Kornblum and I am a Master Mariner holding a Master in Maritime Law (L.L.M.). I spent over 13 years at sea, serving as deck & navigational officer in the British merchant navy.

In 2014 I started working as Marine & Cargo surveyor for some of the Germanies leading survey companies where I gathered substantial experience, in carrying out surveys on an almost daily basis. These ranged from a load, stow and securing survey of oversized cargo on a flat-rack to project cargo and offshore wind turbines filling the entire cargo space of the vessel.

Damage surveys were as much part of my daily business, including the evaluation of existing cargo claims from renown insurance companies to assessing damages to cargo and commodities on site including the extent and cause of damage and recommendation of further action.

In 2019, I decided to set up my own business, serving professional clients in the maritime industry, assisting them to manage their business from the front line, be at the port, at the terminal or on the ship. A well-planned loading survey with all the add-ons is as much part of the service as an immediate call to action as a result of an incident.

Although my focus lies in the Hamburg region and northern Germany in general, all surveys can be carried out throughout the whole of Europe either by myself or through my network of maritime surveyors.

Complementing my own experience, I draw on the knowledge of specialists from institutes and laboratories and since the requirements in the insurance of goods have become ever more complex I am working in close cooperation with a company dealing in claims recovery.
